HoursWoodlands Historic Gardens are open to the public free of charge seven days per week all year round! 10am to 4pm. Woodlands Homestead is open Tuesday - Sunday 10am-4pm. Woodlands Cafe is open Wednesday - Sunday 10am to 4pm.

PriceEntry to the Gardens is free, however a gold coin donation is appreciated in donation boxes placed around the gardens. Entry to the Homestead (Includes a multi-media presentation of the history of Woodlands). Adults $3 Under 15s Free All money raised from donations and entry fees helps to maintain, administer and develop the estate.

Food AvailableCafe 07 824 3985. Woodlands Licensed Cafe, situated on the stunning Woodlands Estate site, next to the Fletcher Cricket Oval and Children's garden. Woodlands Café Manager, Robyn Hazelwood and her team offer breakfast, lunch, morning and afternoon tea options from Wednesday - Sunday 10am to 4pm, evening functions, Birthdays and coporate functions by arrangement.

Plant/Other SalesOn going throughout the year there are plants available for sale that have been grown at the Gardens. These plants have been grown from cuttings taken from the garden and are avaialble at the front of the Homestead.
Guided ToursGuided garden tours available $10 per person (minimum of 10 people), which also includes viewing the Historic Homestead and multimedia presentation.

The Garden

The gardens around the Homestead contain many notable trees - one is regarded as New Zealand's largest Eucalyptus, another a Liriodendron which is believed to be the finest in the Waikato, and an American Ash and Juniperus chinensis, are considered to be of National interest.

The display of the country's most significant collection of old camellias, many of which were brought from Britian in the 1870's, is further enhanced with planting's of old fashioned roses.

The pathways lead to the lake with its Monet-style bridges and gazebo. The garden features wide vistas across expansive lawns. a cricket oval and a croquet lawn. Woodlands has hosted dinners for dignatories, barbeques for birthdays, wine and dine for weddings, Christmas and cocktail parties for companies, celebrations of life, afternoon teas for anniversaries and many many other special occasions.
