Garden SizeThe gardens vary in size from small courtyard gardens to large country gardens.
PriceTickets go on sale on 1st August. The cost of coach travel is included in your ticket price as is the cost of morning, afternoon teas and lunch. Unless otherwise specified wine will be an extra cost. There are 4 options for purchasing tickets for this year. Phone 0800 627 527. Order Form in Programme - P O Box 1180, Blenheim 7240. In person - 92 High Street Blenheim or Henry and High Streets Blenheim. The booking office is open from 9am - 4pm Monday - Friday. Or go to our web site and book on line.

ParkingAll Hunter’s Garden Marlborough visits are organised group tours and visitors are transported by coach. Private vehicles are not permitted entry to the gardens included in the event. All day parking for just $5.00 at Blenheim School round the corner from Seymour Square in Hutcheson St. Proceeds go to Blenheim School.
ToiletsDisabled toilet facilities are available in Seymour Square. For other toilets check your programme.
Food AvailableA hot cuppa or a cool drink and a quiet place to rest a while, all available from St Andrews Presbyterian Church in Henry St adjacent to Seymour Square. The colourful flowerbeds and majestic trees of Seymour Square make this a wonderful setting for the Garden Fete where there will be fruits, hot food and drinks on offer.

SeatingThere is a quiet place to rest and relax a while and enjoy the music and soak in the vibrant surroundings of the colourful flowerbeds and majestic trees is Seymour Square.

Plant/Other SalesRounding off the event is the fun-filled Stihl Shop Sunday Fete. There will be thousands of bargain-hunters and over 200 stalls selling plants, flowers, garden wares, art, furniture and more.
Guided ToursWe have an exciting range of tours for you to choose from. While keeping the iconic tours we have added new gardens into the mix. We are running the trip up the Queen Charlotte Sound again with some changes, and taking a trip up into the Alpine Splendour of St Arnaud Lake.

Chef, Fleur Sullivan, will tempt your taste buds with tasty options for this summers dining.

Natives, Mark Dean, will inspire you with great ideas using native plants.

Florist, Francine Thomas, will show you how to make that very impressive arrangement for your home.

To spice things up a bit we are going back to our early years and reintroducing the Garden Marlborough festival evening; an evening of pleasure with great wine from Hunter’s Wines, live entertainment and other treats.

The Stihl Shop Garden Fete, runs for 8am - 4pm on Sunday 6th with over 200 stalls to choose from. Gardening is the theme for our Fete, be tempted with fabulous food and amazing products for a truly enjoyable day out.

The Garden

A must for all gardening enthusiasts. Come celebrate the beauty of all things botanical at New Zealand's premier gardening event.
Take in the beauty of private gardens as you travel by bus through one of New Zealand's most spectacular regions. Workshops presented by national & international key note presenters will also be on offer.
Rounding off the event is the fun-filled Stihl Shop Sunday Fete with over 200 stalls offering quality produce from right in the heart of Blenheim.

East Coast Garden Tour
The ever popular East Coast Tour awaits to give you an amazing selection of wonderful gardens to wander through and enjoy each with their own special personality and ambiance. Breath taking scenery, a delicious lunch at The Store, with its spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean and a special treat at the Historic Oak Tree Cottage are just a portion of the exciting day we have for you.



Omaka Garden Tour
Explore the amazing gardens on our Omaka Tour, each with their own special features. Tranquil ponds, serene lake, woodlands and more, all there to admire and inspire. A stop will be made at Hunter’s Wines to view the native gardens and with an opportunity to taste and purchase some of our sponsor’s fine wines.



Rapaura Garden Tour
The Rapaura Tour brings together large, stunning country gardens for you to explore. On some of Marlborough’s best soils these gardens thrive under the loving care of their owners. As we travel past Makana we take the opportunity to stop and taste some of their exquisite chocolate. There is plenty of inspiration to be found for all garden enthusiasts on this tour.




Alpine Splendour Tour
Something new, something different. We have put together a selection of stunning alpine gardens at St Arnaud Village for you to discover. Included is a stop at the historic Top House for a Devonshire tea. DOC Botanist Sandra Wotherspoon will lead a walk through native forest beside a picturesque stream, with fantail and bellbirds to entertain you. A portion of the ticket price goes towards plants for the forest restoration project. Enjoy a scrumptious lunch at the Alpine Lodge. Being an alpine environment please wear sturdy footwear and bring a warm jacket.




Urban Garden Tour
Hidden away behind hedges and fences, discover a selection of exquisite town gardens that have been chosen to inspire all on this half day tour. A morning or afternoon tea is included on these half day tours.

The Gardener

You will be introduced to the garden owners and share their wonderful garden with them. Each and every tour has a volunteer courier they will host you throughout the day. These friendly, bright and helpful people will pass on their knowledge of the region and give background information and history on the province as you travel between the glorious gardens that make up your tour of Marlborough.
